As mason jar aficionados, we all know the uses of mason jars in canning vegetables. You can pressure cook them and keep tomatos forever. You can have greens and beans in any season. Mason jars are awesome for gardening.

But what about those of us who don’t have gardens? Maybe we don’t want to tear up our yards, or perhaps we live in rental property where we aren’t allowed to plant a garden. Well, I have an idea for you!

You know those swimming pools for children that are just plastic and sit on the grass? Those can make perfect small gardens. If you can build a stand for them where they stand off of the ground and don’t kill your yard beneath, then you can live where ever you want, and have whatever kind of yard you want while still having a garden!

Here’s the thing. The kiddie pools aren’t that attractive. They are usually colored blue like the ocean and have some childish design on them. That’s okay, because we have options. We can paint over them however we wish. We can cover them in any kind of outdoors fabric. There are ways to completely mask that this is, in fact, a swimming pool.

Imagine having a circular garden that is lifted off of the ground, meaning you don’t have to squat down all day to work in it, and you can just walk around it and take care of your plants. You can plant flowers if you want to, or have herbs growing. It’s totally your choice. But now you can put your mason jars to legit use by canning up some vegetables or holding herbs for later use.

I wanted to think more deeply about this idea though, because we may not be stuck with just circular kiddie pools. I found a website that explains all of the different types of swimming pools available for use: http://poolsforsale.net/ This opens up the avenues big time for us.
